Description
Nos 3, 5, and 7 Market Place is an interesting three-storey building with eight windows, constructed in 1781. The exterior features a stucco design, with sash windows set in cased frames. The lower storey has a rusticated appearance. On the left side, there is a large modern plate glass shopfront with oak glazing bars, while the other ground floor windows are semi-circular-headed and set in reveals. To the right, there is a 12-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight above it. The first and second-floor windows have moulded architraves, and the first-floor windows are adorned with semi-circular tympana featuring Grecian honeysuckle decoration. There are string bands at the sill level and beneath a plain parapet. A rainwater head on the left side is dated 1826. Nos 3 to 13 (odd) form a group.
