Villa with attached walls and railings. c1834, with later additions and alterations including those of mid-C20. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco to front and side facades, concealed roof and cast-iron railings. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows with single, low-storey walls to sides, that to left with garage. Full-height Tuscan pilasters clasp angles and between windows. Plinth. Central entrance: 7 roll-edged steps to central entrance a part-glazed door with overlight, within distyle Doric porch with engaged pilasters, stepped frieze, cornice, blocking course. 6/6 sashes throughout, taller to ground floor, all with sills and moulded architraves and with frieze and cornice to ground floor. Frieze, cornice, blocking course, copings. End stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: walls to right and left, plank pedestrian door to right; stepped frieze, cornice, blocking course. Stick balusters to sides of steps with wreathed handrail. HISTORICAL NOTE: Binswood Avenue was laid out c1828. Nos 50-60 (even) Binswood Avenue (qqv) together with No.8 Kenilworth Road (qv) and No.3 Arlington Avenue (qv) constitute an architectural group.
