Description

The Gatehouse is probably a late 16th-century farmhouse, now a house. It is constructed with a brick ground floor and timber-framing above, with brick infill. The roof is of old plain tiles, hipped on the right-hand side. A massive brick ridge stack is located to the right of centre, and a lateral stack is present on the left return of the left-hand cross-wing. The main range is two storeys high with a two-window front, and a two-storey, attic cross-wing is set to the left. A 20th-century door leads to a 20th-century porch in the centre of the main range. The windows are mostly 20th-century casements, arranged irregularly. A queen post roof truss is visible in the gable end of the cross-wing. The interior has not been inspected.
