Description

Number 26 Hampton Street is a house built in 1781. It is part of a stucco terrace dating to the earlier 19th century, running from numbers 20 to 27. The terrace is distinguished by a low-pitched Welsh slated hipped roof, a wide cornice, basements, and two storeys. The building’s exterior features two sash windows in their reveals, with glazing bars; the right-hand first-floor window has been lengthened. A five-panel door is set within a panelled reveal, flanked by Doric pilasters decorated with incised fret ornament, a frieze, and a cornice. The terrace as a whole forms a visually cohesive group.
