Description
33 Warwick Street is a house that has been converted into offices, built around 1826 with later alterations. The building features reddish-brown brick with a stucco facade and a Welsh slate roof, complemented by cast-iron railings and a balcony. It stands three storeys tall, with a basement on the left side and three first-floor windows. The first floor showcases 10-pane casements set in plain reveals, while the second floor has 3/6 sash windows in plain reveals with sills. The exterior includes a frieze, cornice, low parapet, and copings.
The ground floor has a central entrance with three steps leading up to a six-panel door flanked by sidelights and reed-and-ball pilasters. Above the door is a modillion cornice and a cambered overlight with decorative glazing, all within a distyle Tuscan porch that also features a frieze and cornice. To the left of the entrance is a 6/6 sash window, and to the right is a tripartite window consisting of a 6/6 sash flanked by two 2/2 sashes, all in plain reveals with sills. The building has end stacks, and the first floor is adorned with individual double-heart-and-anthemion motif balustrades for each window.
Inside, there is an openwell staircase that reaches full height, featuring stick balusters and a wreathed handrail. The interior also includes six-panel doors, a modillion cornice in the hall, egg-and-dart cornices, and several fireplaces. Historically, Warwick Street was laid out between 1822 and 1826.
