Description

No. 28 West Street is an early 19th-century building. It is constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof. The building is three storeys high and features a bracketed cornice. The two first-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within reveals and topped by rusticated stucco surrounds. There are two ground-floor canted bays; an oriel window is located on the right-hand side, both with simplified entablatures. Slender pilasters flank the doorway, with an entablature that continues the design of the right-hand bay. A lower back wing has an old tiled roof. The west side elevation has squared rubble stonework to the ground floor.
