Description
No. 55 on West Street is an 18th-century building that has been altered over time. It is constructed of red brick and features an old tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high with attics, and has a plinth, chamfered quoins, and a cavetto cornice. There are two gabled casement dormers and two sash windows with glazing bars, which are adorned with stucco heads and keyblocks. The central doorway is framed by Doric pilasters and an entablature, topped with an oblong fanlight. To the left, there is a modern ground floor casement bay. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 49 to 63 (odd).
