Description

No. 16 West Street is a building dating from the 15th or 16th century, although it has been significantly altered over time. It features a steeply pitched roof that is covered with Welsh slates at the front and old and machine-made tiles on the sides. The building stands three storeys tall and has 19th-century shop windows with a fascia and cornice. On the first floor, there are two canted oriel sash bay windows from the 19th century. The second floor, which partly overhangs and is supported by exposed corbels and brackets, has two flush casement windows. The west side elevation is constructed of red brick and includes a long back wing.
