Description
This is a barn located approximately 10 yards to the northwest of a stable in Bishops Tachbrook, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, resting on brick and sandstone foundations. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with asbestos sheeting, featuring gabled ends. The barn consists of three bays and has two large cart doors on each side of the central bay. Inside, the beam trusses are supported by angle struts. Notably, there are two gallows and the date 1772 inscribed on one of the angle struts, which is believed to commemorate the hanging of two highwaymen.
