Description
Windsor Cottage is a house that has been converted into a school, built around 1830 to 1840, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick in Flemish bond, featuring ashlar dressings. The building has two storeys and three first-floor windows, with an extension at the rear.
There are four steps leading up to the central entrance, which consists of a six-fielded-panel door topped with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars set in panelled reveals. The architrave is adorned with Tuscan pilasters and a broken pediment. The windows are 6/6 sashes with sills and rusticated flat arches, each with a raised keystone, with larger windows on the ground floor. A brick box is located below the right window on the ground floor. The building has wide eaves and an end stack, with 'Windsor Cottage' painted on the front facade to the right in early 20th-century lettering.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, Augusta Place was developed during the 1830s.
