Description

48, 50, and 52 Regent Street are houses that have been converted into shops with flats and storage above. They were built around 1820 to 1830 and have undergone later additions and alterations, including shop fronts from the mid to late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of reddish-brown brick, with a painted brick facade on the left and painted stucco on the two buildings to the right, topped with Welsh slate roofs.

The exterior features three storeys with a total of seven first-floor windows arranged in a pattern of 3:2:2, with the dwelling on the left being lower than the others. On the first floor, there are five 8/8 sash windows and two 6/6 sash windows, all set in plain reveals with sills. The three windows on the left have flat channelled arches and raised keystones. The second floor has three 4/8 sash windows, two 8/8 sash windows, and two casement windows, all in plain reveals with sills. The three left windows have flat channelled arches and raised keystones, while the two on the right feature moulded architraves with ears and shoulders. The ground floor has glazed doors set within glazed shop fronts, with a frieze in the centre. The two houses to the right have tall end stacks with cornices.

The interior has not been inspected. Historically, Regent Street was originally known as Cross Street and was laid out between 1808 and 1814.
