Description
79 Regent Street is a house that has been converted into a shop with a flat above. It was built between 1808 and 1830 and features brick construction with painted stucco and a concealed roof. The building has three storeys and three first-floor windows. The first and second floors have multi-pane casements set in tooled surrounds with sills, and the first floor also includes a frieze and cornice. The ground floor has a mid-20th century glazed shop front with an off-centre entrance and an additional entrance to the left. The building is topped with a frieze, cornice, and a low parapet, and has end and ridge stacks with cornices. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, Regent Street was originally called Cross Street and was laid out around 1808 to 1814. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 63-77 (odd) and No. 81 Regent Street, as well as Nos 92 and 92A on the Parade. It was previously listed as part of the return of No. 92 and 92A on the Parade.
