Description
No 1 Bridge Street is an early 19th century red brick house. It features a low pitched slate roof with gabled ends and stands two storeys tall with three bays. There are three steps leading up to a central six-panel door, which has a rectangular fanlight above it. The entrance is framed by a fine pilastered doorcase that includes an entablature and a hood supported on consoles. On either side of the door are early 19th century sash windows with glazing bars, set under slightly cambered brick arches and with rendered cills. On the first floor, there are two early 19th century sash windows with glazing bars and rendered cills, along with a central modern casement that also features glazing bars. The house has brick ridge chimney stacks at the gables. This building is included for its group value.
