Description
The Joseph Arch Public House is a painted brick building from the early to mid-19th century. It features a low pitched slate roof with gabled ends and stands two storeys high with three bays. There are four steps leading up to a central 19th-century four-panel door, which is topped by an ornate rectangular fanlight. The door is framed by a plain pilastered doorcase that includes an entablature and cornice. On either side of the entrance, there are splayed bay windows, each containing three sashes with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars, which have rusticated lintels with keyblocks and rendered cills. The building is capped with two brick ridge chimney stacks located at the gables.
