Description

This is an outbuilding dating from around the middle of the 17th century. It is constructed of red brick with a moulded stone eaves cornice. The roof is steeply pitched, covered in plain tiles and features hipped ends. The building is two storeys high and originally comprised seven bays. It has segmental-headed openings – three plank doors and five windows on the ground floor. The first floor originally had four blocked openings, alongside two 17th-century cross mullion and transom casements with leaded panes, and a hatch opening. Inside, the roof structure consists of a king post with chamfered tie beams and angle struts. The upper storey was designed as a long gallery. It was formerly included as an outbuilding to the west of The Grove.
