Description
Glebe Farmhouse and attached Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with early 19th-century additions. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill set on a stone plinth, along with a brick addition. The building has gabled tile roofs, with brick end stacks and lateral stacks. The layout is L-shaped, with a 19th-century range at the rear.
The exterior is a single storey plus an attic and has a two-window range. There is a gabled bay to the left and a central lean-to outshut with a small stack at the angle. The entrance is located in the lean-to porch at the right end, featuring a plank door in a moulded frame. The windows have 2-light small-paned glazing with iron opening casements, including one in a gabled dormer to the right of the gable. Some exposed timber framing is visible.
On the left side, there is a large projecting lateral stack behind a 20th-century lean-to outshut. The right side has a lean-to outshut with an exposed truss above, showcasing halved and crossed principals, a collar, and struts. It also features a 3-light small-paned casement on the ground floor and a small light on the first floor, with a plank door at the entrance.
At the rear, there is a two-storey 19th-century wing with a top modillioned brick cornice. The front facing the road includes a lower narrow connecting block to the left end, with an early 20th-century projection under a lean-to roof extending right as a porch. A segmental-headed window to the right has a 3-light transomed and leaded casement, while two windows on the first floor have 2-light small-paned casements. The rear wing has a lateral stack and a window on each floor with an ashlar sill and a brick flat arch over a 2-light small-paned casement, along with a 20th-century single-storey re-entrant block to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
