Description

A group of four houses, now three, located in Kineton, dating to the 17th century with later alterations and a 19th-century addition. The front elevation is lined with stucco and has a plaster plinth; the roofs are steeply pitched and tiled, with brick end stacks. The building follows a two-unit plan plus a cross-wing.

The front has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range. The cross-wing is on the left. The entrance to number 4 is to the right of the centre and has an architrave surround to a plank door. The ground floor includes a window with a two-light casement with small panes to the left of the entrance, a window with a three-light casement to the right, and a small window on the right end. The cross-wing section has a two-light casement with small panes and a small window to the right. The first floor has a window with a 20th-century casement, a window to the right end, and a two-light casement with small panes, the wing’s window having a smaller window to the right. A hipped roof dormer has a two-light casement with small panes; some casements have wrought-iron fasteners. The left return has an entrance to numbers 5 and 6, with a plank door, and windows with two-light casements with small panes. A cross-axial brick stack is present. A lower rear wing has a gabled dormer.

The house at the right end, number 3, is a 19th-century addition of painted brick with a single-window range. It features a top modillioned brick cornice. An entrance on the right has a doorcase with panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice to a six-fielded-panel door. Each floor has a window with a sill and a rubbed brick flat arch over an 8/8 sash window.

The interior was not inspected.
