Description
This is a row of 11 headstones located approximately 5 meters north of the northwest corner of the tower of the Church of St. Lawrence in Napton on the Hill. The headstones date from the mid and late 17th century, early 18th century, and 19th century, and are made of carved ironstone. The first headstone is from the mid 17th century and features a shaped scrolled top with a sunk panel. The third headstone is also from the mid 17th century, with a shaped top and a moulded panel. The fourth headstone, dating to the late 17th century, has a shaped scrolled top and a sunk panel, although it is damaged. The sixth headstone is dated 1658 and has a shaped top with a sunk panel, inscribed to Ann Wright. The seventh headstone is from the late 17th century, featuring a shaped top with fleurs-de-lys and a sunk panel. The remaining headstones do not possess special architectural interest.
