Description
The Church of St. Mary the Virgin dovecote, located approximately 105 meters northeast of the church, dates from the early to mid-14th century, with the lantern likely added in the 17th century. It is constructed of rendered limestone and features an old tile roof with a circular plan. The small, low entrance has an ogee arch and a plank door. The dovecote includes a louvred lantern and two louvred dormers with bird openings, topped by a conical roof. Inside, there are over 580 nesting holes arranged in 17 tiers, and it has a queen post roof. Notably, it retains its potence, which is a rare surviving feature. This dovecote is said to be the only remnant of a moated grange that belonged to the Abbey of Evesham.
