Description
The monument to Richard Lea, who died in 1818, is located 1 meter south of the south porch of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Tanworth-in-Arden. It is made of sandstone ashlar and is designed in a late Neo-Classical style. The monument features a stepped and chamfered plinth and has a square shape with a square core. At each corner, there are four Corinthian columns that support an architrave, frieze, and cornice, topped with a flaming urn. There are shaped inscription tablets on the sides, with the west tablet being inscribed. This monument is part of a group of listed items in the churchyard. Restorations were carried out in 1993.
