Description

Manor Farm Cottage No.3 is a house, originally two cottages, dating from circa 1700, with later alterations in the 18th century. The building has a timber-frame structure with reddish-brown brick nogging, a largely brick front facade in stretcher bond, and a stone rear stack with ashlar dressings. Other stacks are brick, and the roof is covered in plain tiles.

The range consists of two cells with a projecting cross-wing to the right. External stacks are present to the right and left; the left stack is now integrated into a later build, and there is a large external stack at the rear.

The exterior is two storeys and one-and-a-half storeys high, with a three-window front (2:1 proportion). The right-hand facade displays small square timber framing with braces, a front wall post, and a tie beam. A plank door with hood is set into the right return. The front facade features ground-floor 2- and 3-light casement windows with glazing bars, set under cambered arches of rubbed brick. The upper floor has 3- and 2-light casement windows with glazing bars, along with a further similar 3-light window to the gable. The right return has two attic dormers, each with a 2-light window. The rear stack has quoins. The interior was not inspected.
