Description

Mears Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse situated in Pillerston Hersey. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with some ironstone, and has an old tile roof with brick end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a three-window range and a three-unit plan. The ground floor is dominated by a 24-pane casement window in the centre, with 20th-century three-light casement windows to the left and right, and also to the first floor. All windows have wooden lintels. A 20th-century glazed front door is located in the left gable end, and a blocked door is present at the rear. Attached to the right side is a two-storey stone kitchen range with a 20th-century window. A 20th-century brick one-storey range is also attached to the right. The interior features chamfered beams with run-out stops, and chamfered roof purlins, also with run-out stops.
