Description
Brook House is an 18th-century house, likely built of limestone and now rendered, featuring an old tiled roof with brick end stacks. The building is two stories high and has a two-window range with a two-unit plan. On the ground floor, there are C20 three-light casements on the left and right, and a C19 three-light casement on the right side of the first floor. The ground floor windows have wooden lintels, and the entrance is located at the rear. Attached to the right is a one-storey brick range, and there is a C19 brick cottage at the rear, which was joined to the 18th-century range around 1930 and is not of special architectural interest. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with run-out stops, a large open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, and chamfered spine beams upstairs, also with run-out stops. The house is said to retain its original roof timbers and features old plank doors, one of which has a moulded surround and is likely the original entrance.
