Description

Broadclose is an 18th-century house, originally possibly a single dwelling, later divided into three cottages. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with quoins and a storey band, and has a brick gable end. The roof is slate, with brick ridge stacks. The house has a roughly L-shaped plan and two storeys, with a four-window front. A 18th-century plank door is centrally positioned, with a 19th-century door immediately to the left; both have lintels with keyblocks, and are sheltered by a 20th-century gabled porch extending over both entrances. The windows are 2- and 3-light casements with lintels and keyblocks. A two-storey range extends to the rear, featuring an old tile roof, and there is a one-storey extension to the left. The interior has not been inspected. The property is in poor physical condition.
