Description
The Old Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone, featuring quoins and an ironstone and limestone plinth. The roof is made of old tiles, with brick ridges and end stacks. The building has two storeys plus an attic and consists of a three-window range with an L-shaped plan.
On the gable end from the 17th century facing the front, there is a four-panelled door set in a panelled surround, accompanied by a 20th-century porch. The 18th-century range extending to the left has two three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, with wooden lintels. There is also a 19th-century gabled dormer. On the opposite gable end of the 17th-century range, there is an ironstone three-light mullioned window with a hood mould and label stops.
Inside, the farmhouse features a large open fireplace with a chamfered timber bressumer and some chamfered spine beams.
