Description
Evesmere is a house located in Weston-on-Avon, dating from the 17th century, with significant alterations and additions made around 1988. The building features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and brick on the right side, topped with a thatched roof and an end stack made of coursed blue lias rubble and brick. It has a two-unit plan, with the right unit added later.
The exterior is single-storey plus an attic and has a two-window range. The entrance, located to the right of the left unit, features a 20th-century plank door and a hipped open porch. There are two small windows with 20th-century casements, and the attic includes two 20th-century raking dormers with two-light casements. The roof is gabled, and the left unit displays exposed wall studs and timber-framing on the first floor, while the brick on the right unit has likely been renewed.
On the left return, there is a large external stack with an altered small light on the first floor to the right. The right return is plastered and has a two-light window. The rear of the house features a 20th-century entrance and windows, along with a large 20th-century gabled wing. The interior has not been inspected.
