Description
Wild Pear Cottage is a 17th-century building that has been enlarged around 1960 and now functions as a single house. It features a timber-framed structure with painted plaster infill, while the facade is also finished in painted plaster. The cottage has a steeply-pitched roof made of combed wheat straw thatch and includes brick stacks. The layout consists of a three-unit plan with rear wings.
The exterior is one storey with an attic and presents a three-window range. The timber-framing is arranged in small square panels, with arched braces visible on both gable ends and at the rear. The garden front has a chamfered plinth, and there are three entrances, each with 20th-century plank doors framed in moulded wood under cambered arches. Casement windows are found throughout, with those in the attic positioned beneath eyebrow thatch. The building features end and ridge stacks.
Inside, some exposed timber-framing is visible.
