Description

Railway Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with additions made in the 19th century to the left side and rear, and later alterations. The front of the house is timber-framed with arched brace detailing and painted plaster infill, topped with a gabled roof of Welsh slate.

The exterior is a single-storey building with an attic, and features two ground-floor windows. An off-centre plank door is protected by a small hood. The ground floor has a casement window with multiple panes to the left, and a four-pane sash window to the right, both set in moulded wooden frames. A gabled attic dormer has a metal casement. The ridge of the roof has a chimney stack.

Inside, the house features an inglenook fireplace, a beamed ceiling, and board doors. A winder staircase is located to the side of the chimney stack. An exposed wall plate is also present.
