Description

Ivy Cliff and Darlingscott Social Club, which incorporates a former cottage to its right, was built in the 18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone, with a tile roof and a 20th-century stone end stack. The building is two storeys high plus an attic, and has a two-window facade. A central 18th-century plank door features a semi-circular glazed panel, a wood surround, and a worn ovolo-moulded lintel. A 20th-century casement window is located to the left, and another is situated on the first floor to the right. There are two 20th-century dormers in the roof.

To the left is an 18th-century cottage, also of squared, coursed limestone and brick, with a tile roof and a brick end stack to the right. This cottage is two storeys high plus an attic, and has a two-window range. An old plank door is on the right side, while a three-light wood casement window is located to the left, as well as on the first floor left and right; these windows have blue brick sills and wood lintels. A single gabled dormer has been added to the roof. To the right of this is another 18th-century cottage that has been significantly modernized in the 20th century.

Inside the social club, features include chamfered spine beams, joists, and a large open fireplace. The attached cottage also has chamfered spine beams, joists, a large open fireplace with a timber bressumer, and an old plank door. The buildings are listed for their group value.
