Description
The stables and coach house at Red House are early 18th-century structures located on the north side of Church Street in Fenny Compton. They are built from regularly coursed ironstone and feature a simple splayed cornice and an old tile roof. The building has 19th-century carriage doors on the left and two stable doors, with the second door having a small stone round-arched window directly above the lintel. There is also a plank door and a leaded window with two fixed lights on the right. Throughout the building, painted wood lintels can be found. A mounting block is built into the front wall, and there is a blocked doorway facing the road. On the left side, there are leaded windows with three fixed lights, while the right side has one light. Inside, the stables have chamfered beams, and the room on the right is said to have been used as a butcher's shop.
