AVON DASSETT SP44NW 4/252 Dassett Field Farmhouse and 13/09/74 attached walls (Formerly listed as Dassett Field Farmhouse with two pavilion blocks to forecourt on garden front and tbe connecting walls) GV II*
Farmhouse and attached walls. Early C18. Regular coursed ironstone with ashlar moulded cornice and dressings. Old tile hipped roof; brick ridge stacks. L-plan, with wing on left to farmyard. 2 storeys and attic; wing is one storey and attic. Garden front is 3-window range, with flanking one-storey-and-attic one-window ranges. Entrance to farmyard. Stone mullioned windows of 2 basket-arched lights in pedimented architraves, with segmental pediments to left and right. Wings have similar one-light blind windows with shallow segmental pediments. Entrance in right return side of right wing has plank door and adjoining casement with glazing bars. Wing and main range have 2-light hipped dormers. Further wing has two 3-light casements and 2-light hipped roof dormer. Farmyard wing has plank door to attic. Right return side has 2 plank doors. Main range has curved bread oven projection. 2-light hipped dormer. Leaded lights throughout. Interior: kitchen has bread oven. Room with open fireplace, Another room has simple moulded stone early C18 fireplace. Moulded fielded 4-panelled door. Attached walls have flat coped tops.
