Description
Dassett Field Farmhouse and attached walls is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from regularly coursed ironstone, featuring an ashlar moulded cornice and dressings. The building has an old tile hipped roof with brick ridge stacks and is arranged in an L-plan, with a wing on the left side leading to the farmyard. It stands two storeys high with an attic, while the wing is one storey and has an attic as well.
The garden front displays a three-window range, flanked by one-storey-and-attic one-window ranges. The entrance leads to the farmyard, and the stone mullioned windows consist of two basket-arched lights set within pedimented architraves, complemented by segmental pediments on both sides. The wings feature similar one-light blind windows with shallow segmental pediments. The entrance on the right return side of the right wing includes a plank door next to a casement window with glazing bars.
Both the wing and the main range have two-light hipped dormers, while the further wing contains two three-light casements and a two-light hipped roof dormer. The farmyard wing has a plank door leading to the attic, and the right return side features two additional plank doors. The main range includes a curved projection for a bread oven and a two-light hipped dormer, with leaded lights throughout.
Inside, the kitchen contains a bread oven, and there is a room with an open fireplace. Another room features a simple moulded stone fireplace from the early 18th century, along with a moulded fielded four-panelled door. The attached walls have flat coped tops.
