Description
Two cottages, likely once four, built in the early 19th century, with the left range dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of coursed ironstone and topped with a slate roof, featuring brick ridge and end stacks. Each cottage has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a five-window range. No. 2 is on the right and shares a common build with the right range of No. 3. No. 2 has a 20th-century half-glazed door on the left, with a blocked doorway that has a window inserted. No. 3 features a plank door leading to a passage. Both cottages have two-light casements with glazing bars and wood lintels on the ground floor only. The left range of No. 3 is taller and set back slightly but maintains the same roof line, featuring a studded door with an overlight on the right, three-light casements with glazing bars, and a narrow two-light casement above the door. Painted wood lintels are present throughout. These cottages are included for their group value.
