Description
70 High Street is a house dating from the 18th century, with later alterations. It features painted brickwork and a gabled tile roof with brick stacks at the rear. The building has a two-unit plan facing the street and stands two storeys plus an attic high, with a two-window range.
On the exterior, there is a plat band above the ground floor and a top dentilled brick cornice. The entrance, which is segmental-headed and located to the left of the centre, has a half-glazed door set in a moulded surround and is sheltered by a lean-to canopy supported by timber posts. The ground floor includes canted bay windows, each with cornices above small-paned glazing and iron opening lights. The first floor features two segmental-headed windows with small-paned casements, and there are two gablets that have segmental-headed windows with two-light small-paned casements. The interior has not been inspected.
