Description
House, later a bank and now offices, built in the early 19th century, with alterations in the early and late 20th century. It is constructed of brick with stucco dressings and an ashlar ground-floor projection, and has a slate roof with brick end stacks topped with octagonal pots.
The exterior has three storeys and a symmetrical three-window arrangement. A plain top parapet has stone coping. A projecting ground floor features rusticated angle pilasters and an entablature. The central section steps back, featuring an acanthus bracket and flanking channelled rusticated projections containing an entrance and a window. The entrance on the left end has an architrave and cornice over a two-light overlight and a six-faceted-panel door with a bowed, fluted frieze. A window to the right projection has a moulded sill, architrave, and cornice over a six-over-six sash. The central section of the ground floor has two windows with moulded sills and architraves over eight-over-twelve sashes; all sashes have horns and lack lower glazing bars. The first floor has canted bay windows with entablatures above four-over-four, six-over-six, four-over-four sashes, flanking a central window with a stucco wedge lintel over a six-over-six sash. The attic floor has two windows with sills and stucco wedge lintels over four-over-eight sashes, flanking a central three-over-six sash. The interior was not inspected.
