Description

The Old White Horse is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with plastered infill above a rendered brick ground floor, and has a gabled roof tiled in old tiles. A brick stack was added in the 19th century, and there are two further brick stacks at the rear. The house has a 2-unit plan.

The exterior features two gables facing the front. It has two storeys plus an attic, and a 2-window front. The entrance, which is to the left of centre, has a 20th-century frame and door, replacing a formerly moulded ashlar doorcase. It is flanked by canted bay windows with friezes and cornices above 20th-century glazing, the one on the right being wider. The first floor has two windows with renewed 3-light leaded casements. The gables have 20th-century windows. The upper floor retains close-studded timber framing, possibly originally jettied, and incorporates two small, blocked 2-light mullioned windows.

The interior has not been inspected.
