Description

Whitehouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone blocks with ironstone dressings around the windows and openings. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in Welsh slate, with blue brick stacks set on stone bases at each end. Stone coped gables feature moulded kneelers. The farmhouse is two storeys high plus an attic, with a five-window front. The building has a U-shaped plan. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a geometrical patterned overlight and a moulded wooden doorframe. This doorway is flanked by paired wood-mullioned and transomed windows with keyblock stone surrounds. The first floor has five similar windows. A moulded stone cornice runs along the eaves. Ironstone quoins are present. Single-storey wings extend to the rear, featuring stone coped gables, a moulded stone cornice, and steeply pitched red tile roofs. The interior has not been inspected.
