Description
A pair of houses dating from around 1800, located on School Road in Wellesbourne Hastings. The buildings are constructed of brick with gabled tile roofs and brick end stacks. They represent a two-unit plan house with a three-unit former barn attached to the left.
The exterior presents a two-and-a-half by two-window range. The houses have top modillioned brick cornices. The house to the left has a segmental-headed entrance on its left side, containing paired plank doors under timber infill. A segmental-headed entrance is also present on the left, with a plank door. The right-hand entrance has a doorcase with pilasters and an entablature incorporating a deep cornice, leading to a four-flush-panel door. The ground floor features segmental-headed windows at each end: the left window is a three-light leaded casement and the right has a sill to a 20th-century small-paned casement. Above are corresponding windows, one with a three-light and the other a two-light leaded casement, and a brick end stack is present.
The house to the right has a central entrance protected by a bracketed gabled canopy over a four-flush-panel door in a simple frame. The ground floor features segmental-headed windows with sills to two-light small-paned casements. The first floor has a similar design, but with smaller two-light casements. A gabled wing is visible at the rear.
The interior has not been inspected.
