Description

This house on Chapel Street in Wellesbourne dates from approximately 1790, with a later 20th-century addition to the right. It was originally built for J Thorneycroft. The construction is painted brick, with a half-hipped thatched roof and one brick end stack. It has a single-unit plan with a two-story extension to the right.

From the exterior, the house presents a two-story, two-window front. The entrance is located to the left of the center and features a plank door within a wooden frame. A gabled porch, of 20th-century origin, replaces what was formerly an open trellis porch. On the ground floor, there is a window with a segmental head, containing a three-light casement with iron fittings. The first floor has two windows with 20th-century two-light casements. The extension to the right has a tile roof, replacing a steeper thatched roof, and a brick end stack.

The interior of the house was not inspected during the listing process. The house is of group value.
