Description

Honington Bridge is a bridge over the River Stour, built around 1685. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features five bays. The central semi-circular arch is flanked by smaller arches, with the arch to the right of the centre appearing to front a lower arch that may belong to an earlier, narrower bridge. The bridge has an ashlar parapet with moulded coping and stone piers, some of which are topped with stone ball finials. There are some renewed bases and ball finials, and it includes S-shaped iron tie rods.
