Description

Ivy House is a house dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations, including a former stable range from the 18th century on the left and renovations from around 1980. The building features timber-framing on the right side with reddish brick nogging and a reddish brick facade on the left, topped with a plain-tile roof. It consists of a two-bay timber-framed unit with a porch, and a two-bay extension to the left that includes the former stables at the far left. There is also a range at the rear that extends at right angles, with another extension to the right.

The exterior is one-and-a-half storeys high and has four upper-floor windows. The square timber-framing includes angle braces and a notch for a prop at the front. The entrance to the porch features a plank door, while the ground floor has tripartite casement windows. The attic includes gabled dormers with casements, and all windows are in wooden frames. A modillion cornice and gabled roofs with ridge and rear stacks complete the exterior.

Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace to the centre left of the timber-framed range, featuring a bressumer beam. Another inglenook fireplace is located in the left extension at the rear, also with a bressumer beam. The right part of the house showcases extensive exposed square timber-framing, including in the partition walls, along with chamfered beams and exposed rafters.
