Description
The South Rookery is a mid-17th century house with 20th century alterations to the front facade. It is constructed primarily of red brick, with close-studded timber-framing and brick infill to the ground floor on the right-hand side. The roof is of old plain tiles, and there is a brick end stack to the left. The house has an L-shaped plan. It is a single-storey building with an attic, and has a three-window front range with a cross-wing to the rear right. A 20th century door is located on the right side of the building. The windows are of 20th century design, and a flat-roofed dormer window provides access to the attic. Small timber-framing with brick infill is present on the sides and rear of the building. The interior was not inspected, but it is noted to contain timber-framed internal walls.
