Description
A farmhouse dating to the mid-18th century, with an earlier 17th-century wing. It is built of regular coursed ironstone and has a simple cornice. The roof is tiled with coped gable parapets, and includes a stone end and brick ridge and end stacks. The building follows an L-shaped plan, with a wing on the right. It is two storeys and has an attic, with a four-window front. A central door is part-glazed with six panels, and a two-light window sits above it. There are 18th and 19th-century three-light casement windows, some with leaded glass, to the left and right. The wing has no windows on its front face. The left return side of the building features a 19th-century French window and a three-light casement. Painted wood lintels are found throughout. A single-storey, two-window range with a hipped roof extends from the left. The right return side has a blocked three-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould on the ground floor. A gable with a stone stack is also present. At the rear is a single-storey section with a four-panelled fielded door. Inside, there are flagged floors. The wing includes broad, chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops. There are fielded four-panel doors, and three plank doors with strap fringes. Original straight flight and winder staircases are also present.
