Description
The Left Garden Pavilion, along with the attached garden walls, railings, and gatepier at Arlescote House, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone. The pavilion features a painted moulded wood cornice and an old tile ogee hipped roof topped with a wood ball finial. It is a single-storey structure with a one-window range. The front of the pavilion was likely originally open but has since been blocked. It includes a leaded cross window and a plank door on the right return side, which has a stone lintel with keystones. The rear has a catslide roof. The walls are topped with flat stone coping and a moulded cornice. In the right corner, there is a gateway with a flush panelled door and a stone flat arch. The return section of the wall towards Arlescote House is stepped down halfway. A low wall with plain iron railings, featuring urn finials at intervals, surrounds the area. The gatepier, which may date from the late 19th century or early 20th century, is made of ashlar with shaped sunk panels, an entablature, and a strongly projecting cornice.
