Description
The stable and loose boxes, likely a former shelter shed, are located approximately 30 meters northwest of Pool House. They date from the 17th to 18th century, with alterations and additions from the 18th to 19th century. The structure is timber framed with tension braces and brick infill, featuring some weatherboarding and planks, and a high brick plinth. The roof is covered with old tiles and the building is in an L-plan layout. It has a stable double-plan that includes a hayloft, with a weatherboard outshut added across the front. There is a stable door, as well as stable and hayloft doors inside the outshut. The return sides have jowled posts, and the right side features a hayloft door. At the rear, there is a central doorway and two small windows. The loose boxes consist of five bays, four of which were probably originally open but are now filled in with weatherboarding and planks, and there are two plank doors and a small window. The end wall has been rebuilt in brick, and the rear displays exposed framing. Inside the stable, there are two wooden troughs and fragments of hayracks.
