Description
No. 44 Haydon Way is a cottage dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It features a timber frame with close studding and square framing, along with lath and plaster and whitewashed brick infill. The building is partly underbuilt in lias and brick, and the gable end facing the road is roughcast. It has a tile roof and brick lateral stacks. The cottage has a two-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a one-window range. The entrance is located on the left return side and consists of a part-glazed six-panelled door. The windows are casements with glazing bars, and the gable ends have jowled posts. The right return side displays exposed framing. Inside, there is a 19th-century winder staircase and a trenched purlin roof. The cottage was undergoing additions and alterations at the time of the last survey.
