Description
These are a pair of cottages located on Cliffords, dating back to the late 18th century, with an addition built in the 1980s. They are constructed of painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern, topped with a renewed tile roof and a brick stack along the ridge. Each cottage originally had a single-unit plan, but number 32 has been significantly extended, effectively doubling its size. The front of the cottages faces a churchyard.
The cottages are two storeys high, with a three-window facade. A decorative brick cornice runs along the top. Segmental-headed entrances are present on each cottage: a battened door is on the left end of number 31, and a more recently installed door set within a glazed lean-to porch is on number 32. The ground-floor windows are also segmental-headed; number 31 has 2-light casement windows with iron opening mechanisms, and the first-floor window has leaded glazing. Number 32 features more recent casement windows. A return wall connects the cottages to number 30. There are two short wings at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
