Description

Manor Cottage, originally two houses and now combined into one, dates to the 17th century, with a 19th-century wing and significant late 20th-century restoration. The building is timber-framed with brick infill and has a steeply pitched thatched roof. It features a three-unit plan. A brick stack is located at the end of the ridge, and another is at the front of the ridge. The exterior is single-storey with an attic. The front has a four-window range, with entrances at each end, currently fitted with 20th-century doors. Ground-floor windows are 2-light, small-paned casements, also of the 20th century. Three raking dormers are visible, each with similar casements; the dormer on the left end has been rebuilt. The right return displays close studding to the ground floor and 20th-century casements in altered window openings. The rear features close-studded ground floor construction and one raking dormer; a 19th-century gabled wing extends to the right, with 20th-century casements within segmental-headed windows and gabled half-dormers. The interior was not inspected at the time of listing.
