Description
Fell Mill Farmhouse is a farmhouse with an attached mill, dated 1697 according to the datestone. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble and features a steeply pitched red tile roof with brick stacks at the ends and laterally. The building has two storeys plus an attic. The central entrance consists of a partly-glazed and panelled door, which is framed by a moulded wood surround and hood. On either side of the entrance are tall two-light mullioned windows that have hood moulds and label stops. There are two similar windows at each end of the house, all of which contain glazing lights. The first floor features projecting casement bays with glazing bars, and a central two-light wood-mullioned window with glazing bars and a wood lintel. To the left, there is a single-storey mill extension with a limestone front and a brick left end, which includes a brick end stack, a plank door on the right, and a 20th-century window with a wood lintel on the left. The house also has three gabled roof dormers and is said to have a cockpit in a rectangular extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
