Description

A pair of houses built between 1836 and 1837 in Stratford-upon-Avon. The houses are constructed of brick with buff brick headers and stucco dressings, topped with a slate roof and brick end stacks. Designed in a Georgian style, the building is two storeys high and features a symmetrical three-window facade. A brick cornice runs along the top of the front. Round-headed entrances flank a central entry, all with blind fanlights and 20th-century doors; the central entry has a plank door. The ground floor includes a canted bay window with cornices over a plate-glass shop window in number 7, and 4-, 12-, and 4-pane sash windows in number 8. First-floor windows have sills and rusticated wedge lintels over 12-pane sash windows. The houses are part of the early 19th century development of the north side of Stratford, known as New Town.
