Description
The stables and attached farmbuilding at Walcote Manor Farmhouse date from the 17th to early 18th century, with a 19th-century outshut. The structure is timber framed, featuring square framing with tension braces and brick infill, and has a lias plinth. The brick outshut has an old tile roof and the building is arranged in an L-plan over two storeys. The stable has central paired stable doors and a hayloft door, while the farmbuilding is positioned at right angles to the left. The front facing the road is whitewashed brick with three pitching holes that have doors. The farmbuilding is also whitewashed and includes a casement dormer. The interior of the stables is divided into two separate stables, one of which retains its stalls, wooden troughs, and hayracks. The interior of the farmbuilding has not been inspected. This building is part of an interesting group with Walcote Manor Farmhouse and the barn.
